Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm-based music game featuring 8 chapters, with the latest addition being Week End 1. Your goal is to face off against your girlfriend’s father, a skilled musician, in a series of musical battles. To win her heart and earn her father’s approval, you’ll need to outperform him in rhythm challenges, hitting the right notes at the right time. As you progress, your objective is to maintain rhythm accuracy and hit as many notes as possible throughout each song. The game’s Story Mode spans across 8 weeks, where you'll engage in rap duels with a variety of opponents, including Daddy Dearest, Skid and Pump, Pico, and more. Each battle grows more challenging as you go, with the hardest difficulty offering an intense challenge that demands near-perfect timing. For practice, there’s a Freeplay Mode that allows you to focus on specific songs and hone your rhythm skills. Originally launched on October 5, 2020, Friday Night Funkin’ was first created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam, hosted by Newgrounds. The game initially included a tutorial, two weeks of content, and six songs, but its immense popularity led to the addition of more chapters, bringing the total to eight weeks with 15 songs and numerous characters. The game’s open-source nature also encouraged the development of countless mods by the community, further expanding the experience. With the release of Week End 1, the storyline of Friday Night Funkin’ continues! In this 8th week, you’ll witness an intense reunion between Darnell, Nene, and Pico. After a thrilling cutscene where Nene chases Pico, you’ll be able to engage in three new rap battles against Darnell in the songs "Darnell," "Lit Up," and "2hot." Keep up the rhythm despite Nene’s threats and Darnell’s intimidation, and uncover the unexpected conclusion of the story. Additionally, a new Night difficulty has been introduced in Freeplay mode, featuring 12 remixed tracks for an even greater challenge. Update 5.0: Pico Special
